T-Minus 24 hours

It all has come to this... One more day at home, only what I can carry with me is left in my possession, my entire life and all I own is on a truck heading west as we speak.

This time tomorrow I'm assuming I will be on the road, with first small stretch towards the west for me. My family and I will leave here (Philly) and drive to West Virginia... where we will meet with Sarah and her family and stay the night. Then on Sunday morning, we load up Sarah's car with everything else we didn't put in the truck and hit the road.

I spent my last hooray with some of my friends last night... making my goodbyes and farewells complete amongst my friends here at home. My only regret is I never really got to see my friends from Pittsburgh again and say goodbye to them officially... last I saw them there was hope of one last visit to the City of Steel. But alas, it never happened and we will have to make due with our previous goodbyes.

I am aware these goodbyes are not a permanent thing, but they do mark a corning point in our lives... no longer will it be the hanging out and everyone being around during school breaks or summer vacations... no more of the hang out every weekend or meet up on a random weeknight. It's the end of close proximity and easy access to time spent together.

There are my friends who are already gone... Doug (who's blog you can follow HERE) is in Nicaragua working at an eco-friendly resort... or Allison who is now in Florida as part of Americorp... or Amanda who is also doing Americorp but out in the good ol' state of Washington. (Amanda will actually be my closest friend from home... but doesn't say much because she's still extremely far away.) But some of them may be returning in the coming year... or they may not, there is no guarantee 100% for any of them... just as there is none for me!

So it's goodbyes... but not a never see you again type of thing... just a "thanks for everything and take care until we see each other again" type of thing.

Well, I'm off to enjoy my last day at home. I got some errands to run and some relaxing and drinking to do with the folks. I've had my last taste of WAWA, a place I will miss uncontrollably.

Tomorrow leave me with only one thing left to do... I gotta go see about a girl.
